The NHMM Trail is a cleared footpath with white blazes that extends from the Massachusetts border to the top of Mt. Monadnock. It is open to anyone wanting to hike it. In that sense, the trail belongs to everyone. The trail crosses both public and private land and for much of the private land it is there with the revocable permission of the landowner. In that sense, the land the trail crosses belongs to a variety of individuals whose land should be respected. Thus the rules of good hiking conduct apply. Carry out whatever you carry in. No fires. Keep on the marked trail. If you see trash, pick it up and carry it out. If you see misuse of the trail, report it.
